Waste of MoneyJul 05, 2004
This DVD sucks. It has 25 mins of footage on it, and most of that is taken up by 2 music videos, which come on Disasterpieces anyway. All up, there is about 15 spoken words from the band members, they all introduce themselves by saying their name, number and instrument, followed by about 30 secs of footage of that person on stage. Interviews-wise, there are 3 questions asked, and all are answered with 1 sentence each.A HUGE waste of money

ABSOLUTELY NO NEED FOR THISJul 24, 2004

I decided to pick this up when i bought disasterpiece because i've been looking at it for a while and never had the urge to buy it. I was blown by disasterpiece, the best live/band dvd i ever bought. But when i put in welcome to our neighborhood, i wondered where everything was? The interview was crap, the music videos are on disasterpiece, and the band introduction is worthless. Maybe this woudl be good for the music videos, but disasterpiece is out, THIS IS WORTHLESS, im very sadened by the fact i wasted my money on slipknot merchandise.

Don't buy itJan 11, 2004

"The Calm"
I made the mistake of buying this DVD. Nothing is really new on this DVD except for a few minutes of bonus footage. They should have at least put more interview footage on it.

For TRUE SLIPKNOT FANS!!!Feb 24, 2010
By G. Hernandez
"Old Man Rise"
Back in 1999, the band Slipknot submerged into the mainstream scene with their single "Wait and Bleed". At the time, the band met producer Ross Robinson, played Ozzfest 1999, and since they did not have NO PROMOTION from MTV and most radio stations, they had no choice but to try to get out to their maggots, WITHOUT ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
Here is some info from WIKIPEDIA: "The publisher, Roadrunner Records, promotes the video as "a study in the roots of Slipknot" as a response to fans wanting to see what made the band "tick". In the video, band members themselves explain in the video that "[Welcome to Our Neighborhood] basically [it's] nine people working out every poison that ever affected them in their life and putting it on tape."
This COLLECTOR'S ITEM, Slipknot's FIRST OFFICAL HOME VIDEO, you hold and most of the buyers complained about, is something they may not have known. Read the information of how this product even went PLATINUM, THREE months after its release (for a NEW band, that is VERY good, having NO other promotion) because well deserved fans back than of the band (including me), had and have more appreciate than todays music fans and wanted something to just enjoy for the meantime, while they built their success, what do you expect? Also, what most do not realize, is that the compilation footage of "Scissors" is not available on the VHS version, and I had purchased the video when it FIRST came out, so it was an EXTREME BLESSING being able to see MORE "early live footage" from my favorite band on this DVD. This DVD Reissue is truly for REAL SLIPKNOT fans that have been with them over the years of their career, 10 years and STILL COUNTING...This DVD was built around its QUALITY, not QUANTITY. Buy the other DVD's and the Slipknot 10th Anniversary Edition.. STAY SIC!!!

I watched this today......Dec 04, 2003
By Anthea Kyle And it was pretty bad, my own expectations let me down a bit, First off there is no live versions of scissors, just a lame collage of mostly previously seen footage! ripped off! Its essentially the same as the vhs version with the added feature of dvd menu's whoop di do! I am a big fan of this band & have been lucky to have met them in person,It's good to finally have surround sound versions of the songs on this dvd. The menu is entertaining at times with different pics displayed as you choose a title followed by a scream from corey! My version came in a cd jewel case, i dont know if this is normal but i like it better this way. I have not found any easters eggs yet, if indeed there are any. If your a collector like me you will want to own this dvd, but if you allready own the video and have grown tired of it i would suggest to save your money or buy disaster pieces if you dont allready own it.
