| | | | BLUES MUSIC | Home » » Rhinoceros | | | | | | | Description: | | White Stripes, out of Detroit in the late '90s and comprised of former Country/Rock drummer (with Goober and the Peas) turned guitarist/vocalist, Jack White and drummer Meg White used Punk and Blues as their base while incorporating Folk and Art Rock. Jack worked with several area groups including a stint singing and playing guitar on the Go's debut single "Whatcha Doin'." White was soon on his way to becoming a highly eclectic and emotive songwriter. The idea for White Stripes was to create simple, basic Rock. On Rhinoceros we go behind the music to get the inside track on the making of this unique band. The DVD features interviews with close friends and mates of the band, rare early footage, also of Jack White in his pre-White Stripes days, an interactive trivia quiz and a extensive White Stripes discography. | | | Product Details: | | | Actors:

Complete rip-off crapDec 29, 2006
By higB You know that spoof movie, "Waiting for Guffman" ? About 20 minutes into this "documentry" I felt like I was watching waiting for guffman.
If you are a white stripes fan, you will absolutley HATE this rip off. It's the biggest piece of crap ever. There is >> NO << white stripe music. There is no white stripe performance footage. There is NO original white stripe interviews.
This is just a bunch of people from detroit who sit around and tell "inside" stories about jack and meg white. All of the stories can be utter crap lies but no one will bother to actualy check up on them because it's true crap.
There is one interview in particular when one of the "insiders" goes on for a few minutes about how great the colors red and white are. He goes on to explain, "Red and white can be side-by-side, up and down, red can incircile white, or white can incircle red. Red can be next to white, or white can be-next-to------red"
Well thank you VERY much for that insight about how one could potentialy arrange the colors red and white.
I wish I can get the time and money back. I never post Amazon reviews but since this DVD was THAT bad I feel it's my civic duty to warn others.

rip offOct 01, 2007
By Betty P. Kenny I bought this movie but instead of it titled Rhinocerous it was Candy something blues anyways its a rip off and completely boring donot buy it and do not engage in its false sense of getting paid off the white stripes name because its basically the same info you can find in any one book written about the band and i cant remember if it goes along with the lie of them ( meg and jack) being brother and sister but to relate thats how cheesey it is.
Awful MockumentaryNov 06, 2011
By spider63 I saw part of this moronic documentary on cable once, and for years I thought the the White Stripes must be a horrible band. Just this week I heard some of their songs, and now I realize that this documentary was a terrible rip-off of this band, and an awful negative mark against the band. I wonder how many others have seen this on cable and decided that White Stripes must be a waste of time and money?
