On November 19th, Warner Bros. Records will release LIVE EARTH - THE CONCERTS FOR A CLIMATE IN CRISIS - a CD and 2-DVD package that brings together the highlights of the event staged in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg, with special events broadcast from Antarctica, Kyoto and Washington DC. The CD/2-DVD package includes performances from such artists as Madonna, Linkin Park, Beastie Boys, The Police, James Blunt, Roger Waters, Keane and many more. In addition to the live performances, the Live Earth DVD will also include six short films from the Live Earth Film Project that were shot by award winning filmmakers Nick Wickham and Emer Patten. The films, which premiered at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, were commissioned by Live Earth to utilize the power of film to educate a global audience through entertainment. The entire product will be released in carbon neutral packaging. "This CD/DVD package gives audiences another opportunity to experience the excitement of the largest entertainment event in history, while re-engaging with the issue of the climate crisis," said Kevin Wall, Live Earth Founder & Chairman. "We believe music has the power to influence and this package is a chance to expose more people to the Live Earth concerts and message." The digital album will become available for purchase via iTunes and all other participating digital retail outlets on November 5th. I watched several hours of the Live Earth concerts on television and was thrilled to see that a DVD/CD compilation was available. I was pleased with the variety of the songs and performances that were included on this set, especially some of the memorable duets, such as Keith Urban and Alicia Keys on Gimme Shelter. I also liked the fact that there was a CD as well as the two DVD's. It was great to be able to watch some of my favorite performances again. Overall, I am very pleased that I bought this DVD/CD set.

Well music and rock fans - need help on this one. Where is the rest of the rock groups songs that performed? This internet rock show was as big as Live 8 back in 2005, maybe even bigger. Some bands had played several songs, not one or two. Will there be a part 2,3 or 4 to this Live Earth concert? This is why it gets a single star. So much is left out - plus it does not even say if it is unrated, do not want cut songs. The music on this is wonderful - however so much is left out. For example, Linkin Park had maybe up to ten songs or close to that number. Unhappy and unclear about this, where do we look and go from here to locate missing concert music?

So much of the music was left off this DVD it staggers the mind. This DVD seems to be 60% talk and 40% music. Many of the performances were cut short leaving me irritated beyond belief. Live 8 is a superior offering.

I was dissapointed with the dvd as I thought it would have more content. RE: It only had one song by the Police and Linkin Park. Even though I know the Police played at least 3 songs.
