Never Again On This Planet......May 22, 2008
By Tim From Cincinnati Will we so privileged to see James Brown, Robert Palmer, Wilson Pickett perform live in a funky night club in Detroit..Rock so much as this one..!! As to the other reviewer's statement that this one lacks any historical value..Blows me away. For Thank God, we still have Joe Cocker, and Aretha Franklin..But there will Only be One James Brown, One Robert Palmer and One Wilson Pickett in our lives again.
Imagine Getting to hear all of them doing duets with James, his band, and his super funky hits? This is a real gem of a performance, and one id highly recommend to those who know their music.
So what if the sound, audio isnt state of the art? Its Live, Hot, and So Soulfully Funky. James is in rare form in this performance, and its so much fun to hear him with his guests, who are are legendary musicians. God Bless Wilson, Robert Palmer, and the One and Only Godfather of Soul, Mr James Brown for being in our world. The final jam of the night captures all the magic you could ever wish for.
Buy this one, you'll not regret it, for never again will we see most of these people again in our life. and i FEEL GOOD saying All us too.
Soul Session FinaleNov 16, 2010
By Richard Whitlock
"Rich"
This DVD will the last joint performance by the iconic masters of soul genre, including James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett. I gave it 5 stars because it is a legendary combination of soul talent. Pickett & Brown died in 2006. On Nov. 4, 2010, Aretha's non-disclosed medical condition required cancelation of all performances through May 2011.

has it high pointsOct 29, 2006
By Mark good but could be better, at first, I kept going back and watching the Joe cocker tune I'll go crazy with James, it cooks. Billy Vera does a good job by himself on out of sight. robert palmer don't care for, wilson pickett not the best, aretha, not the best, also the sound could be better, I don't know why on some of these dvd's they just can't get, or mix good audio, and that wrecks it for me, unless its something historical, Black and white, and mono, thats different. two must have JB dvd's would be soul survivor, Excellent JB story, and Excellent 20 minute concert fotage, with good powerful sound, the way it should be. This dvd super soul same as & friends I don't rewatch very often, and if I do, there's only a couple of songs I go to, Joe cocker and billy vera.

By The TT What's not to like. Reallly like JB and the artists here, what made it even better is I got a coupon for a free dvd at a local used bookstore and found this with a bonus cd ... a cd and dvd free, or as JB might say......I FEEL GOOD

By ginger AZ James Brown just didn't seem to be what he used to be. However the all star soul session really was pretty good.
