Terriffic Video for any Cream Or Gary Moore FanJan 18, 2007
By Scott Loessy Jack Bruce gives you insight on how he plays the bass lines on all songs throught the video.
He is then in the studio with legendary blues great guitarist Gary Moore playing all the songs that Jack reviews.
The only problem I have with the DVD is that they cut away from Gary Moore while he is into some solos to show Jack. I'm a huge Gary Moore fan but it is Jack's DVD. There is plenty of video of both to satisfy and music enthusiast!

These Were The DaysDec 14, 2007
By Richard Weisbrod I purchased this as a present for a bass playing friend of mine a few days ago. And, he just called to tell me he loved this disc!
First, the trio performances are excellent. Especially Gary Moore's (who my friend was not familiar with).
Second, the instructional interludes are very informative. Following a performance, Jack sits down with you for an amiable chat about what he was playing and how he played it. He also interjects a few anecdotes and musings about his Cream days and their songs. Including how he and Ginger considered themselves jazz musicians, and Cream a jazz band. They just never got around to telling Clapton. (Probably a good thing). Also, insights into subject matter of songs like NSU (in case you did not know).
Lastly, this recording was made around 1998. So, it precedes the agony and ecstasy of the 2005 reunion.
If you are a rhythm-loving musician that enjoys the Cream or Jack Bruce, I think you will really love this disc.
Highly recommended.

Jack Bruce : The Cream of CreamJan 10, 2011
By Gilbert Cardenas The title says it all. Jack was/is the best performer, writer and singer of the band Cream. His performances on this video are what Rock, Blues and Jazz is all about. The attitude towards his music is what you would want all musicians to have. This video is awesome.
Half-assed as both an instructional video AND as a performance video!Oct 10, 2011
By Baberufus This video is a waste of money--it would even be a waste of money if it were $10.00, let alone the ridiculously high price of $26.99 that it is--grrrrr. When I saw that the video featured performances by Jack and Gary Moore, I thought it was going to be great! But the performances are just in some cramped little studio with goofy camera work and terrible mono sound. Right, not only is the sound not in DTS or Dolby 5.1, it's in MONO! Hello, what decade are you in, sound guys?? And the instructional/background part on Jack, is mildly interesting, but not really too in-depth. One funny part is when he explains the origin of the song "N.S.U."...hilarious! (I won't give it away here.)
So overall, blah! A total ripoff...if you see it in some bargain bin for $3.00, then OK, but it's not worth much more than that.
