Get the SetApr 13, 2005

I really like this workout. However I see how it could be utterly impossible if you haven't first done the Tahitian Cardio workout. A lot of the moves that aren't explained in this video are explained in that one.
So if you're thinking about it go for the series (which they sell as a DVD or VHS set I believe), or just Tahitian Cardio.
But besides that it is a really great fun workout. It's a nice step up after Tahitian Cardio because it is more intense and a better workout. I've had a lot of fun with. I really like Kili as an instructor however, she's got a nice speaking voice and does a much better job of explaining things (especially in Tahitian Cradio) then is done in most videos.

I loved her since her first DVDs "Hula Workout" though those used cutsy 60s music & added 60s american dance moves but still have a lot of authetic hula dancing.
These "Island Girl" hula workouts are more authentic. Just like her other ones, you get a great workout, your abs burn, your hips, legs get a nice workout. It's all authentic dance moves with some added quick squats, etc. added in so you barely notice it. The authentic drum Hawaiian music is beautiful & does keep you stimulted too keep going just like a dance/rock beat would.
I had no trouble following & learning the steps, there are plenty of dance DVDs that I have had trouble with, but she breaks everything down well & shows it slowly several times before speeding it up. She even cues YOUR left & right, not hers.

"Workin' Out"
and her name is Kili. I ordered this when looking for a break from Veena and Neena, the bellydancing wonders. This workout is pretty easy to follow (other than the fact that your abs will be crying and probably you'll end up shaking instead of circling, but that's a good thing if you want to shed the weight). After a few days it becomes "easier" to follow and is still fun fun. I am exceptionally glad that I ordered it because it makes working the abs actually fun. You hear that claim a LOT but this one does it. Kili is a goddess.

This is one of my favorite workout DVDs. If you are familiar with belly dancing moves, you will learn the choreography in no time. The moves are challenging, but the music is great and the cool down is soothing and relaxing. I always break a sweat with this workout, and I always feel my abs are getting a workout as well as my legs and even my arms. I gave this DVD 4 stars simply because Kili's voice is a little annoying, but the "workout to music without narration" feature is great if you just want to hear the music. This is a great addition to your weekly routine. It is not too strenous, but you will still have to work hard to perform the moves correctly, therefore you'll definitely burn some calories.

I enjoyed this workout, but find that it doesn't get my heart racing. Maybe that is because I have been doing tahitian and hula for a few years now. I bought this because I moved to an area where there are no classes and thought it would be fun to learn a new routine.
Kili does a good job of explaining the moves and it really is fun for a light workout if you have done tahitian dance before, and is most likely challenging if you haven't.
