Finally, the Culture Club videos are HERE!May 14, 2005
By M. Jenkins Don't let the April 28 posting deter you. With all due respect, it was based on the 20 minute Amazon clip, NOT a viewing of the actual DVD.
I purchased the European (PAL) version of this DVD last fall (Virgin Records has a tendancy to release the good stuff in Europe first, then it comes to the U.S.). Based on the cover art and Amazon description, this is the U.S/Canada version (i.e., Region 1) of the European release. Thus, it is the COMPLETE video collection PLUS the A Kiss Across the Ocean concert.
It is an excellent compilation with all of the classic music videos and more. I had never seen the videos for Victims, Mistake No. 3 (check out that GIANT wedding cake!) and The Medal Song.
The complete listing from the European DVD:

Very, Extremely Pleased With This ReleaseJun 11, 2005
By Dorrie Wheeler Culture Club fans, run out and get this DVD when it comes out. It is so nice to see the Culture Club videos from the early 80's. Unlike a lot of other compilations (most recenly Peter Gabriel's "Play"), the producers of the DVD didn't screw with the track list. The videos appear on the DVD in order of release date, at least I think they do. The DVD opens up with "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me," which is followed up by the video for "Time (Clock of the Heart)." It is really great seeing the video for "Time" because it seems like this video hasn't been played on VH-1 Classic or other video outlets as much as some of the other videos over the years.
The videos from the first few albums were very influenced by Japanese Culture, most namely, "Miss Me Blind," "Love is Love," and "It's A Miracle." In the video for "War Song," George is wearing red hair and by the video "Move Away," George is sporting short hair. The new (1998/1999) videos are also included. "I Just Want To Be Loved" is a really great song with a reggae beat.
Yes, the DVD does include the concert "A Kiss Across The Ocean." It's nice to finally have this on DVD. Before the show starts you can see the many Culture Club fans dressed as George or various members of the group. The concert was much more simple than concerts of today or even a Duran Duran concert back in the day. The stage was small and intimate. There wasn't a huge video screen or special effects, George and the band and Helen Terry doing their thing.
Another cool extra is Culture Club Then and Now. There is an interview with the whole group. George is sporting a large hat and dreads. He has been sporting a bald look with paint as of late so it's hard to tell when this interview was recorded, maybe at their last reunion. I'm guessing the interview is from 1998 era? George is wearing the same hat that he wears in the "I Just Want To Be Loved" video. It's a great DVD and a lot of time and effort was put into it. The video quality looks about the same, it is not quite as sharp as I expected.

Yes, it IS a video compiliationMay 03, 2005
By D. Myers This DVD includes 17 music videos, including three from their reunion album, "Don't Mind If I Do". The 1983 concert is also included, as an extra feature, making this a great value. I love blue-eyed soul, and Boy George is one of the best in the genre.

CULTURE CLUB Greatest HitsJun 14, 2005
By Mary Jones This CD & DVD made me so happy. I had a party and my friends and I all danced for hours! I had a lot of these songs during the 80's but on cassette tapes that haven't survived. This Album/DVD rules!
A Must Buy!

Thank You, Culture Club!Jul 21, 2005
By Anthony Morelli
"Woofbear"
Hats off to a remarkable pop music band who've evolved into something special over the past 20 years. Thank God this DVD of Culture Club hits has arrived! I was wondering when something like this would happen. Having only seen 1 video from "CC" (Mistake #3) since they began, I'm more than happy to own this DVD. It's packed with the "visual" aspects of the music I grew up to + some new songs from the later years. I don't think I've seen a "1 Disc" video compilation with so much stuff on it. There's so much to see & enjoy...it's totally worth the wait.
Watching Boy George & the band mature & evolve into what they've become over the years is pleasing. I couldn't help but smile while watching BG's shy smile light up the screen in each video. And his eyes....they're so expressive. God...why am I only discovering these videos now?
BG's makeup & costumes (hats, coats, pants, etc) has improved, as well as his singing style. In "YOUR KISSES ARE CHARITY", he's more on the plump side with pitch black hair. I've never seen such sexy eyes on a man...and such perfection in any artist's makeup! And....BG is just about the only person I've seen continue onto fame in 20 years, despite his "hit & miss" solo recordings.
To think...CC started with their hits "KARMA CHAMELEON" & "CHURCH OF THE POISON MIND". They sounded great then, but only got better over the last 20 years. I enjoyed watching the live concert footage because I appreciate these 4 guys even more than if I were to just watch the music videos.
This is the tracklisting of the DVD:

I love the artwork & packaging. It's simple, yet well put together. Stunning photos of BG and the front cover of the layout is gorgeous. I've always wanted to purchase & play CC with pride...and that's exactly what I've done! Without a doubt, I highly recommend this DVD to anyone...because "NOSTALGIA STARTS HERE!!!"
