Five Stars Funny !Feb 10, 2002
This movie really tickles my funny bone and it is definitely on my top ten comedies list (check out the excellent book by William Kotzwinkle... also known as "Jack in the Box"... it is a VERY funny memoir). This movie is definitely worth a rent or buy. It has fantasy moments that are kind of "Scrubs"-like, and it will give the right crowd a serious case of the giggles (and roll around laughs). Sure the movie is predictable, but you won't care. Watch it for the laughs (and universal childhood memories). This movie also features a great true to self performance by John Cameron Mitchell the future writer-director-actor of the awesome cult sensation "Hedwig and the Angry Inch". This movie was the first movie ever directed by Robert Shaye (who is now the Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of New Line Cinema... he helped to bring us the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Nightmare on Elm Street Series, and great hits like Frequency... he has since direct "The Last Mimzy"). An R-rated version is now available on DVD (the movie was originally PG-13).

I love this and I've rented it over ten times!May 26, 1999
By deeboard@hotmail.com The first time you see this movie it's possible you'll lose control of your bowels. I seriously laughed till I stopped. It's definitly a cheesy movie but I found it incredibly humorous. It's cool because it's not a popular movie. I know tons of people who don't like to have a good time and those people won't appreciate the humor. Teenage guys and diapered senior citizens will definitly like this one. It's well worth the money!

Bought this movie for my hubby, so he could remember his dorky time trying to date during school. It was a nice movie to see at family movie night with the teenage kids.

Better than American Graffiti and Hollywood KnightsOct 25, 1999
This movie makes you want to go back in time and live in the 50's. You can identify yourself with each charater and their dilemmas. This movie is packed with non-stop laughter. The soundtrack is also a huge plus for those who enjoy the beginning of the rock-n-roll era.

Cute and funny coming of age comedy...Sep 27, 1999
I thought this movie was fairly well done. Sure, there were the requisite 50's cliches but I love them and I recommend this movie to anyone else who shares my sentiments. A highlight was the drunken foursome singing 'Earth Angel' around the piano. The soundtrack adds a lot to the movie if you're a fan of 50's music.
