What A PerformanceDec 31, 2006
By Home Cinema The Asylum Street Spankers have always put on a great show. I've seen them in Concert in Chicago in November 2006 and what I really loved was the combination of fantastic musicianship, great melodies and their natural, sometimes naughty humour. The Re-Assembly DVD ist the culmination of all concerts by the group. Not one clunker in the set list and you can see that they had fun.
For the music and the performance I gave the five stars. Minor gripes I have (they didn't influence my rating): The picture quality is so so, i.e. it is in Widescreen but not anamorphic. This means you get less screen resolution because you have to manually zoom the picture to fit your screen. Also, I found that when the camera is in motion, the movement on the screen becomes a bit jerky. Last bit of griping: It would have been nice to get a 5.1 digital surround sound to get the "I'm in the audience, close to the band" kind of feeling. But again, this didn't distract me from thouroughly enjoying this performance. I'm watching it over and over again.
And now go and get spanked.

Spanks A Lot / Spankers RuleSep 11, 2006

I have been seeing the Spankers Live for about 7 of their 10+ years of existence, and this show has it all. First and foremost, it has every single person who has played in the band, and they are tastefully inter-twined in a fashion as to allow each one's talents to shine through without seeming overcrowded. Good Music, wonderful talent and humor, filmed thoughtfully......and great sound. If you've not seen them, buy this to learn how good they are and what you are missing....if you have seen them buy this to see other members you may not have known to be a part of the band.
And, I was able to play both parts and the bonus features, so the previous commentor's DVD Player may not have been working correctly.

step up for the best spanking...Jan 18, 2011
By R. Crist This live performance is the best of the spankers from all their different renditions of the band. The best songs and many times better performances than their albums.Get it, you won't be disapointed...and don't miss the live spanking.

God's Favorite Band, and MineJul 27, 2010

This band is (and soon, sadly, was) the best thing to ever happen to the music industry.
Militantly acoustic. Lyrically and musically irreverent, yet in reverence of the true depth of music. Raunchy, ballsy, and brilliant, the Spankers put on one hell of a show.
This lineup features one of my favorite singer/songwriter/musicians, Guy Forsyth, an ex-Spanker who hooked back up with the crew for the anniversary. Putting his power next to Christina and Whammo, and you've got the makings of one of the best musical acts ever conceived.
It should be noted that, as of writing this review, the Spankers are retiring. They're doing their farewell tour ("Spanks for Everything"), and you shouldn't miss it.
As far as production quality goes, it isn't amazing, but it isn't horrible, either. You're not getting your latest-greatest-blue-ray-sparkling-sunshine-and-a-cookie quality here, but it's not enough to completely detract from the music aside from a couple songs.
My recommendation? Keep a bucket of ice filled with beer and lots of your favorite munchies nearby, sit your friends on the couch (or floor, or suspension bridge) and watch it in it's entirety.
