Wonderful singing group...Sep 02, 2007

Celebrated milestones don't come much better than that of legendary folk-rock band Fairport Convention last weekend. Originally formed in 1967, they wowed their fans with a 40th anniversary to remember after yet another triumphant annual festival in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.
I was turned on to this group by listening to a CD of Judy Collins a few months ago, when she mentioned the death of a singer she knew, Sandy Denny, who sang with "Fairport Convention." Well, right away I went out a bought a couple of albums and have been in love with the music ever since.
